The "Whistleblower Protection and Anti-Corruption Practices" Seminar

A Throwback of the "Whistleblower Protection and Anti-Corruption Practices" Seminar

Oneworld Hanxin College was fortunate to invite lawyer Ngeow Chow Ying from Projek SAMA to deliver a lecture on "Whistleblower Protection and Anti-Corruption Practices: Law, Institutions, and Social Support."

Starting with real-life cases, she guided students to understand:
1. What is a "whistleblower"?
2. The protections and limitations of Malaysia's Whistleblower Protection Act 2010
3. How (and when) the law cannot provide protection when exposing misconduct
4. The real-world tension between institutional support, social support, and individual courage

Through case sharing and interactive discussions, students not only gained an understanding of anti-corruption and legal systems,
but also began to consider—when faced with a choice between public interest and personal risk,
how would we make our choices?

This was not just a lecture, but a dialogue about responsibility, courage, and social awareness.
